چکیده

The PAHs transformation in the soils of coal mining enterprises impact zones and thermal power plants remains poorly studied. In turn, can be considered as a primary cycle production electricity. One main sources negative environmental is industry located on territory upland south East European Plain. features accumulation fuel energy have been studied example mines with different service life current coal-fired plant. It was established that, regardless period intensity emission source, well its status, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) content significantly higher than background territory. low molecular high weight differed depending land use type, an industrial effect type. pollutants all exceeded values according to soils, they formed following decreasing series: Mayskiy ≥ Ayutinsky > Novoshahtinsk Power station Background. According content, series changed to: >Mayskiy Soil pollution markers for complex were identified pyrene chrysene, which are part coal, from hydrocarbon sources. influence plant accompanied by benzo(g,h,i)perylene concentration increase.

Biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...

Urease Activity in Soil Contaminated with Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Urease activity was determined in soil contaminated with four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): naphthalene, phenanthrene, anthracene, and pyrene in the amount of 0, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 mg·kg DM soil. Organic materials – cellulose, sucrose, and compost – were applied to the samples in the amount of 0 and 9 g·kg DM soil. The experiment was carried out in a laboratory, and soil samples...

Activity of Arylsulphatase in Soil Contaminated with Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

An experiment has been performed to determine the activity of arylsulphatase in soil submitted to pressure of four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons: naphthalene, phenanthrene, anthracene, and pyrene, in the amount of: 0, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 mg kg-1 dm of soil. Soil samples were also applied some organic substances, such as: cellulose, sucrose, and compost, in the amount of 0 and 9 g kg-1 dm...

Transport of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in a Calcareous Wetland Soil

Knowledge of transport and degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is important in assessing PAH contamination of soils and water resources. The transport of naphthalene, anthracene, pyrene and phenanthrene was determined in a contaminated calcareous soil obtained from the Shadegan wetland (Khozestan, Iran) considering a column study in laboratory conditions. The PAHs were added ...
